Tuensang, March 22 (MExN): On the initiative of declaring Tuensang as Plastic Free Town, the remodeled clock tower of Tuensang was inaugurated by DC Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant on March 22. The event was organised by Tuensang Town Council.
A DIPR report stated that speaking during the programme, DC Tuensang advised all to have a change in the mindset to keep the town clean, and added that unless people change their habits, the society will remain the same. Ramnikant also encouraged the gathering to act sustainably so that the future generation will not suffer because of the present deeds. He urged all the citizens to take civic works as common responsibility rather blaming the government.
SP Tuensang, Vishal Chauhan in his speech appreciated the initiative of remodelling of Clock Tower which he said was like a new hope for Tuensang towards positive change. The SP also donated green dustbins and assured the services in the free plastic campaign in the town.
Aokonang Ozukum, Vice Chairman (LIFE) and O Somba President TTAWU also delivered short speeches during the programme while Repetal presented a special number. The programme was chaired by EAC Tuensang, Arhonbeni Ezung.
