The office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung through an order issued on May 13 constituted a Research & Communication Committee on COVID-I9 Mokokchung with Sentilong Ozukum, EAC (Development) as Convenor.
Highlighting on the duties and responsibilities of the newly formed committee, Sentilong told The Morung Express that they will conduct research and documentation and then suggest ideas to the District Task Force COVID-I9 Mokokchung for deliberation and implementation.
The committee will create sensitization and awareness programs through various digital media including radio and YouTube.
It will also help facilitate the movement of stranded persons from Mokokchung who are currently outside the state for their safe arrival to Mokokchung and also look into their grievances if any. “We are compiling all the details of stranded people outside. We will set up a call centre type, build a website and an app and ensure they are not facing any discrimination anywhere and guide for their safe arrival to Mokokchung,” he stated.
The committee will be also responsible for facilitating and arrangement of psychological or spiritual counseling to the inmates at the Quarantine Centers. “We will engage professional counsellors and also local counsellors,” Sentilong informed.
The other members of the committee include Dr Sentitula IFS, DFO as Member Secretary; and member including Dr L Imsutoshi Jamir, Professor, CTC Aolichen: Tia Mollier, Assistant Professor, FAC; Dr Kilangwabang, MO, IMDH and Dr Tiasunep Amri, Assistant Professor, NU, Lumami.
