Kohima | November 27: The Regional Institute of e-Learning Information Technology (RIELIT), Kohima has trained about 3000 in various courses since its inception.
The Institute has provided AUTOCAD Software training to the officials from science & technology department, Government of Nagaland, provided website design and multimedia training officials from agricultures department, Government of Nagaland, conducted promotional online examination for Comptroller Auditor of General of India.
The Institute also provided two weeks training programme to 30 under privileged girls organised by Women Study Centre, Nagaland University and provided technical support for the training of Nagaland State AIDS Control Society under medical department, Government of Nagaland.
It also extended IT training to 30 students in Fashion Technology under Government of Nagaland.
RIELIT Kohima is a national level technical institute set up in 2004 under Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India.
The Institute has prime objective of creating skilled manpower in the area of computer science & information technology and related disciplines.
The institute offers training programme to improve employment opportunities and facilitate availability of quality UIT manpower, which will lead to growth of IT industry in the region particularly in Nagaland.
A special feature of the RIELIT is that the institute has both formal and non-formal course.
“Such a mix courses will provide opportunities for education and training in computers and information technology and related disciplines not only to school pass-outs with science and mathematics background; but also to students with arts, commerce and humanities and social sciences background,” a pamphlet received here said.
It also stated that RIELIT focuses not only in imparting IT education but also involves in research & development works, consultancy services and software development.
