Assam Gov Prof Jagdish Mukhi to temporarily discharge functions of Nagaland Gov

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, RN Ravi has been appointed as Governor of Tamil Nadu. This was informed in a press communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, late Thursday night.

While no name was announced to replace Ravi, the communique said that, “Until regular arrangements are made” incumbent Governor of Assam, Prof Jagdish Mukhi is appointed to temporarily discharge the functions of the Nagaland Governor “in addition to his regular duties.”

The communique further informed that the President accepted the resignation of Baby Rani Maurya as Governor of Uttarakhand and appointed Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd) as Uttarakhand Governor. Meanwhile, it was informed that Bhanwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu holding additional charge of Punjab Governor is appointed as regular Governor of Punjab.  The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
