DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): The Rising People's Party (RPP) has reiterated that that the list of lecturers and demonstrators published by the Technical Education Department (TED) on February 10, 2022 is “illegal.”
In a letter to the Nagaland Chief Minister, the RPP said that the posts of lecturers fall under the purview of the Nagaland Public Service Commission, and therefore the recruitment process carried out by the TED is illegal and unconstitutional.
“What is most galling is that the TED simply advertised the candidates’ qualification criteria and made an interview call based on the candidates' graduation/post graduation marks without conducting written exams. This is another pristine example of khushi-khushi culture as practiced in the state. However, and most unfortunately, this factual position is being unfairly defended by the Advisor for TED and the TED itself,” the RPP said.
It further stated that “apart from it being illegal, departmental exams are most farcical in nature.” The RPP stated that the contention of the TED and the Advisor of TED that the recruitment process has been transparent and is based on merit “is bereft of reasoning and simply unacceptable.”
“The whatsapp conversation between your two Advsiors is ample proof that backroom machinations for illegal appointments in your government are real and irrefutable,” the RPP’s letter to the CM said.
“In the interest of the student community,” the RPP urged the Chief Minister to see to the “unfairness of the whole recruitment process” and cancel the so-called departmental exam of the TED and declare the results null and void.
