Salesian College of Hr Edu conducts career counselling

Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur in collaboration with Imperial Academy, Dimapur and AIDA, Don Bosco Job Placement Network, conducted Career Counselling, organized by IQAC &Art and Literary Club. It was held with the aim help students make an informed career decision based on their professional choices, stated a press release received here. 

In the first session, Saket Saurav, ex- faculty of the Administrative Faculty, Imperial Academy, gave a motivational talk on the benefits and also on how to appear for the Civil Service Examination. Citing example from the experience of the officers who rendered their help in times of crisis he portrayed the value of Civil Service Stages of exams, syllabus etc. He also emphasized on the motto of the civil service i.e. “Character is the biggest virtue.” The session concluded with the short interactive question hour which clarified further doubts of the students. 

The second session was conducted by AIDA, Don Bosco Job placement Network on Tata Consultancy services estd in 2007. An introductory note on Tata consultancy Service (TCS) was delivered by Mr. SebiChacko the regional Co-ordinator for Don Bosco, Job Placement Network, India. He updated the students with the various job opportunities available in the region and in the country. Later Mr. DhrubjyotiGogoi, the representative from Tata Consultancy office addressed the students. He started with a striking question, “In an interview why do candidates get selected or rejected?’ Mr. Gogoi then elaborated on the aim and purpose of TCS through a proper PowerPoint presentation onthe motto, “Increasing the employability” and to uplift the underprivileged. 

The programme concluded with note of thanks proposed by Ronit Dangme, sixth semester, History department.
