Wokha, November 24 (MExN): Sensitization of girl child on education and health issues and seminar on women empowerment through employment opportunities under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme 2018, the District Administration in collaboration with Lotha Eloe Hoho, Social Welfare and Medical department organized a seminar to spread awareness about the importance of girl child and to impart livelihood trainings at Chukitong Block on November 24.
A DIPR report stated that the resource persons included Psychologist, NTCP Abeni kikon, EAC Chukitong, Imliakum Sanglir and President Lotha Eloe Hoho Zuchobeni Ezong.
The objective was to promote girl child by imparting trainings like livelihood activities like knitting, weaving, paper bag making, broom making, pickle making etc. Ten beneficiaries each from Chukitong and Niroyo area has to be identified and the same has to be submitted to the Lotha Eloe Hoho by the CDPO through the Anganwadi workers. The beneficiaries can be either from SHGs or any deserving persons.
The above information was intimated to the gathering during the programme. For this, material cost will be provided to the concerned CDPO through District Administration to the concerned CDPO and will be distributed on the day of the programme.
Hundreds of participants including adolescence girls and parents took part. Similar programme will be conducted at Niroyo area on November 27.
