KOHIMA, MAY 13 (MExN): 7 violations of the lockdown were reported on May 12 while 12 persons were bound down. A total amount of Rs. 67,400 was imposed as fine under various sections of the MV Act from 332 vehicles.
This was informed by Hiazu Meru, Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland.
The Joint Secretary added that all essential commodity shops and medical shops were open in all the districts other than Mokokchung, where it was closed to regulate public movement. There has been no report in the shortage of essential commodities.
No restriction has been imposed on movement of commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and service providers. He added that suitable arrangements made by the Government for providing food and shelter to migrant workers continues to function.
Accordingly, 4 relief camps are active where 64 migrant labourers are housed and 4 food camps are active. Also, more than 720 daily wagers and needy people were provided food/dry ration.
