Yes:
• Yes, times have changed, it should be allowed.
• Any "producing industry" in Nagaland had failed miserably, given the choice, at least "extracting industry" should able to run & manage profitably!
• The state government must resume exploration and extraction of oil and other hydrocarbon resources at the earliest because the world has been making tremendous progress in the field of Renewable Energy, thereby making Non-Renewable Energy either obsolete or economically unviable.
• Many unemployed educated expert Naga youths can join the exploration.
• They need an economic push. We need to balance economy and sustainability.
• The sole ownership should be the land owner or partnership against his own terms and conditions.
• Revenue generated can be invested in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other developmental projects.
• Yes. It should be. It can not only generate revenue but also employment avenues to many people and also it can pave way towards the growth of roads and other infrastructure in the State. What's the use If being gifted with such resources if we don't make proper use of it when we do not have any other major source of revenue besides just begging for funds to Central govt.
No:
• Should be allowed only when policy is clear that such explorations benefit the public, not just the few rich people in the state colluding with vested interests.
• Why invest on these activities which will cause environmental degradation. Best we boost agricultural resources.
• We don't want Nagaland to be exploited.
• No, it will give rise to more corruption… Funds sanctioned by central will vanished. Where are those funds need to check corruption first in Nagaland.
• Corrupt minded Nagas can't handle oil exploration. Nagas should see the oil and gas blow outs it will destroy the entire village with H2S gas leaks ...with the corrupt mindset of Nagas. It's best we don't get into oil exploration
Others:
• Just like in the NPSC and NSSB competitive examinations where a BT candidate scoring less than a general candidate in the preliminary examination but still gets selected to sit for the mains and by some design, clears the competition to be selected for a general candidate reserved post under the guise of BT reservation, fossil based fuel exploration and utilisation is also happening in the State under the guise of individual ownership for well-connected and established individuals for the benefit of the few. Loopholes in the policy implementation as in the competitive examinations are always there to be taken advantage for the benefit of a few unless promptly acted upon.
• Forget about extraction, after seeing this post, there might be a new union coming up with its headquarter in Dimapur by tomorrow.
• Let the government first fear the Lord and start exploring the gift of God and use it in the right way to make Nagaland a 2nd Heaven.
