Wokha, May 15 (MExN): Wokha police in a series of incidents seized suspected brown and made several arrests. On Saturday two people were arrested in possession of suspected brown sugar from Wokha town area while on Wednesday, two persons were arrested from Doyang Bridge (NH-61). In another incident, 40 Assam Rifles Wokha Battalion also recovered illegal drugs during a raid on May 14.
According to an update from Wokha IA, Wokha Police led by UBSI R Lochumbeni, OC Women Police Station Wokha apprehended two persons identified as Jandeno Kikon (24 Years) and Zuthunglo Ovung (37 years) from Wokha town area.
The update reported that 207 grams of suspected brown sugar worth around 4 lakh in open market were seized from their possession, in this connection a case was registered at Women Police Station, Wokha under Section 22 (b) NDPS ACT.
On May 12, a combine team from Wokha Police Station and Women Police Station “acting on a tip-off” intercepted one vehicle GETZ bearing registration number AS-23-0-7843 from Doyang Bridge (NH-61) on May 12. They team found 23 grams (approximate) of suspected brown sugar from the possession of the two occupants of the car.
In this connection, the two persons were arrested who were identified as Zuchanthung Tsopoe (40 years) and Libemo Tsopoe (31 years). A case was registered at Women Police Station, Wokha under Section 22 (b) NDPS ACT for further investigation, the update informed.
In another incident, the 40 Assam Rifles Wokha Battalion on May 14 conducted raid at Tsumang “A” colony Wokha Town and seized 115 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, suspected Sunflower 34 packets approximate 5 grams and suspected brown sugar 90 grams.
Two persons identified as Zuchilo Ezung (45 years) and Nzanbemo Murry (39 years) were arrested. Both the accused and the illegal drugs were handed over to Wokha Police Station for further investigation.
