Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): St John College (SJC), Dimapur launched ‘Two Wheeler Club’ on World Motorcycle Day with the motto ‘every ride is a tiny holiday’ on June 21.
A brief programme was held through Google meet where Peter Rutsa, founding member and President Nagaland Motorcycle Club-Kohima chapter graced the occasion as the guest speaker. Rutsa in his talk appreciated the club for the step it has taken and said that SJC was the 2nd college after Tetso College to start the initiative of launching a two wheeler club. He encouraged the students to be cautious while riding two wheelers and to always wear proper safety gear. He also briefed the participants about NMA and how it has been involved in charity works over the years.
Anato G Swu, the Club Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, SJC informed the participants that the club was formed for two reasons. That the club aims towards providing a platform to the students to enhance and develop their personal and social skills, and also that the club will provide opportunities to the students to enjoy their college life while giving equal importance to their studies
SJC Principal, ST Jenetius shared an enthralling experience of his association with motorcycles since his youth days. He shared a few clips of the collection of motorcycles he had in the past while encouraging the students and faculty members to be a part of the club.
The programme began with an invocation by Mhonbemo M Kikon, vote of thanks was delivered by Arenpola and end with benediction by Thiuthiubo Pama.
