Kiphire, April 12 (MExN): The District Administration and District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Kiphire jointly organised a public speaking contest at DC's Conference Hall on April 10.
According to a report from the state DIPR, the themes for the contest were: Challenges faced by Women of Kiphire District; The rise of Women is not about the fall of men, and Gender balance is not solely a Women's issue, but also an economic issue.
In the Class IX to XII category, Thingrila A Sangtam won the first position while Chumtila and Thsipongla L Sangtam came second and third respectively. All the three winners were from Saramati View Modern School, Kiphire, the report stated.
In the other category, Thrilela I Sangtam came first while Angali T Sumi and Sekhumla K Sangtam were came second and third respectively. All the winners were from Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire. Altogether, 40 students participated in the competition which was moderated by District Coordinator, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Kiphire, Visuthong T.
The judges of the competition were BDO Longmatra Block Dr Ezao L Ezung; Assistant Professor, ZPC Nekhotsolu Chozho, and Imlikokla, Graduate Teacher, Government Higher Secondary School, Kiphire.
