Wokha, July 16 (MExN): Sub Centre Sankiton under Wozhuro/Ralan block in Wokha district was inaugurated by Dr Vikato Kimini, Principal Director, Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) Nagaland on July 16.
“Good health brings good economy in the village,” the Principal Director stated while congratulating Sankiton Village Council and the village community for their effort in setting up the health centre. A press release from the Wokha Chief Medical Officer’s office stated that Dr Kimini assured all medical facilities will be available in the health centre soon.
Dr Tumchobeni, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha; Deputy Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr Zuben; and Dr Imkongtemsu, Deputy Director, H&FW Nagaland spoke during the occasion.
Rev S Thungrio Khuvung, Pastor, Longjung Mission Compound Vankhosung offered the dedicatory prayer. Sankiton Village Council, Chairman, Libemo Lotha thanked the medical department for making the health centre a reality ‘as the village community has been seeking’ for years. Opening prayer was pronounced by Zuchamo Murry, Pastor Sankiton Baptist Church. Vote of thanks was given by M Jacob Khuvung, Village Development Board Secretary Sankiton and benediction was pronounced by Rev Thungjanshio Odyuo, Pastor Phiro Baptist Church.
The programme was attended by medical directorate officials, administrative official, civil society leaders, programme officers and staffs from medical department and village community.
Later, a medical camp was also organized at the new sub center premise where beneficiaries availed various health services provided by medical team.
