Tangnyu village resolves on Nagaland 2023 Poll

•    Cautions against use of money or forces to coerce voters
•    Invites for campaign at common platform
•    Restricts picnic, parties or camps within village jurisdiction

Mon, August 2 (MExN): In view of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election in 2023, the Tangnyu village general public has warned against use of money or forces to coerce voters. “Such practices are banned and defaulters will be strictly dealt with,” the Tang Citizen resolved during a general public meeting held on August 2. 

The Tang Citizen, President, M Aching Dy Ahng and Sessional Secretary, Lochen in a press release stated that the meeting was attended by those 18 years and above of Tangnyu village from around 500 household.

The house has also extended invitation to any intending candidates from 43 A/C Tapi to visit Tangnyu village and share his/her opinion or campaign at common platform.

The youths also warned against any candidate(s)/parties from resorting to unfair practices, organizing picnic or conducting parties or camps within Tangnyu village jurisdiction. 

“If any candidate(s) fail to abide by the conditions laid down by Tangnyu Youths, his/her case will be forwarded to higher authority for further necessary action as per the Election Model Code of Conduct,” it stated. 

Meanwhile, the house unanimously resolved to support Wanglem Konyak of Tangnyu village, intending candidate to contest during the forthcoming election, representing 43 A/C Tapi under Mon District on NPF Party. The Chief Ahng of Tangnyu village also endorsed the candidature of Wanglem.
