ENSF blames rationalisation, gives 7 days ultimatum to govt
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has issued an ultimatum to the Department of School Education (DoSE) demanding the immediate retention and deployment of teachers in schools across Eastern Nagaland that have been left without relievers following the recent teachers’ rationalisation exercise.
In a memorandum addressed to the Commissioner and Secretary of School Education on September 3, ENSF expressed “deep concern regarding the recent rationalisation of teachers on 22nd August 2025 carried out across the state.” The federation stated that during this process, a number of teachers were transferred out from schools in Eastern Nagaland without any relievers being posted against the sanctioned posts.
“As a result, many schools have been left without subject teachers, severely hampering the academic of students,” the ENSF said. The federation added that it had earlier written a representation to the department on August 26, 2025 seeking immediate redeployment of relievers, but the appeal went unheeded.
The memorandum warned that ENSF would be “left with no other option but compelled to exercise its democratic rights in the event of failing to address our genuine issue within 7 days from the submission of this ultimatum through peaceful, phase-wise agitation until our concerns are acknowledged and our demands are met.”
