No creature has ever surpassed human being intellectually. Man is blessed with enormous mental potency. With this great dexterity, he has been dominating the world since time immemorial. The dawning of science and technology has revolutionized things beyond measure. Coupled with this advancement the quest for his existence and the universe intensified. In an endeavor to trace the answer God has been sidelined and man as the locus to all else and this configuration is seen since the day man began incorporating facets of postmodernism into his language and history. Nevertheless the more he exerts to find the purport within himself the greater the detachment from the solution. Being an intelligent being, he ventures to elevate himself on a par with the Almighty but when this framework is further endorsed the eventual consequence is muddled.
For years scientists speculated that subsequent to the unraveling of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) the quest would end as by then the finger prints of God would be fathomed. However the end result fetched bewilderment when the fact of the matter had been ascertained as human DNA stores not a midget but 3.1 billion information. A universe in itself! In due course they yielded to this factual intricacy. To be more precise, Francis S. Collins, the co-mapper of human DNA, at the end of his lecture in one of the summits displayed the picture of the same on the screen and there was an apparent gasp from the audience owing to its ideal symmetry. In response he made a remarkable avowal that it wasn’t an ‘accidental collocation of atoms’ but through a design that it emerged into being.
To further the prodigy, in his classic book, “Jesus Among Other Gods,” Ravi Zacharias exposes the sublimity of the handiwork of the Creator. He penned, “Think of this for a moment. In eighteen milliliters of water (about two swallows full), there are 6x1023 molecules of H20. How much is 6x1023? A good computer can carry out ten million counts per second. It would take that computer two billion years to count to 6x1023.” Such immensity defies human imagination indeed. Not only is the enormity of God seen at the minuscule phase but also the outer space evidenced the Word. According to Ravi; in a conference, Professor David Block, Astrophysicist at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, showed the slide to his audience and discloses that the screen contains 100 billion stars. He further postulates that if they started counting at the pace of one star per second then they would remain there for 2500 years. The Scripture divulged that “Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing (Isaiah 40:26).”
One of the twentieth century’s greatest names, Albert Einstein, after having meticulously propounded several famous equations delved once more into a much elevated endeavor. He then embarked on to promulgate an ultimate theory namely the “theory of everything.” The tragedy was that to many Einstein’s last theory was fated before he even commenced. It was owing to his personal dispositions, that is, he could not concede that the consequences of his own work clashed with his belief about God that fabricated our universe. In other words he tried to read the mind of God using the same. He affixed himself onto this great theory over 30 years till he breathed his last. The finale was nothing more than being labeled as the ‘unfinished symphony.’
The inferential point that the writer aspires to posit is not to debase science and technology as conscious of the verity that without which this article itself would not have been made viable for publication. However when it is deemed as the eventual reality and the point of inception to everything the fallacy then creeps in. The Gospel of John enunciated that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made (1:1-3).” Two millenniums back this Word had been entirely manifested, namely, in the person of Jesus Christ, the author of life. No matter how hard man strives to unearth the elucidation from other sources, through this Word alone can his thirst be sated for the Bible did not pronounce that in the beginning was the science.
