Thenyizu, March 11 (MExn): The Thenyizu Village Council under Phek district organized a felicitation-cum-thanksgiving programme on March 10 for three government officers including a student leader and wrestler, hailing from the village.
Through this programme, the village council felicitated Zhothisa Dawhuo, director of State Lotteries, Nagaland, Vahine Thisa, director of Treasuries & Accounts, Nagaland, Mhaseto Nakro, director of Technical Education, Nagaland, Avezo Kevin Kapu, president Chakhesang Students Union and Venuzo Dawhuo, reigning champion of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA).
In his address, Zhothisa Dawhuo exhorted the people to stay united and be more courteous, ever willing to help one another, be selfless and love one another.
Dawhuo also encouraged the village to take up vocational activities and also asked them to work hard to strengthen the village economy. Vahine Thisa stressed on the need to have an action plan.
Emphasizing on the need to pay respect to leaders, she told the community to give constructive suggestions instead of criticism.
He also told the villagers to be humble, discipline and hardworking.
Mhaseto Nakro told the villagers to focus on quality education.
He highlighted the prospect of New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and advised the parents and students to embrace the same as it would practical based education.
Avezo Kevin Kapu and Venuzo Dawhuo also addressed the gathering.
Vepozoyi Theyo, Head GB, Chisazo Dawhuo, Chairman Thenyizumi Planning & Vision Cell, C. Theyo, chairman Village Education Committee (VEC) and social worker Thepuphi Kapuh also delivered short speech.
The programme was chaired by Thenyizumi Union Kohima (TUK) chairman Besuhu Dawhuo while welcome address was delivered by Thenyizu Village Council chairman Medothi Rhakho.
