Parliamentary secretary for horticulture Neiba Kronu today maintained that the Naga youth has advantage to serve everywhere in the world for its ability to speak English fluently. “English is the most expensive commodity of the world,” Kronu said adding that Nagas are better than Chinese, Japanese and Korean when it come to English speaking. Kronu was speaking during the inauguration of higher secondary (Science Stream) at the Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima (An establishment of the Chakhesang Baptist Church, Ministers’ Hill, Kohima).

In English speaking, we are even better than many other advanced nations, he said. Kronu said Thailand’s commerce minister in his recent visit to Delhi in an informal conversation with Chief minister Neiphiu Rio, wanted some Nagas to come to Thailand and teach them English and in return get technology from them. Also stating that job is available in every part of the world, he said “Do not worry about the job.” He, however reminded the gathering that there is no place for second class. Job is now available only for the best amongst the best, he said and urged upon the youth to work hard and grab job opportunity in the multi-national companies outside Nagaland.

Also touching on the competitive world, Kronu asserted that there is no shortcut to success. In this, he called upon the students to come out with strong determination, adding that there is no time to take rest in this competitive world.

The parliamentary secretary also stated that the world is turning into a small global village where one can learn anything in this information technology. In this, he urged upon the students to respond to the positive aspect and at the same time to choose the best one to excel in this fast changing world. Terming academic stage as the most important stage in life, he cautioned that that if the students are not sincere and discipline they would land up in the loser zone.

Kronu said out of 365 days in a year “we hardly get 200 days to work” as the rest of the days surrounds Sunday/Saturday and national holidays and others. In this, he quarried how many students study for 4 to 5 hours a day in 200 days. He called upon them to study hard less they will not find a bright future. Kronu also called upon the students to be firm and determined in their approach and strive hard to be somebody one day.

Further, Kronu lauded the church leaders of the CBC Ministers’ Hill, Kohima for their tremendous effort towards the growth of education (beside their spiritual works) by establishing a school. Maintaining that Mount Sinai School has come to high degree of perfection, Kronu extended his support for further growth of the school.

Proposing vote of thanks, Visielie Kezo, member school managing board encouraged the students to work hard and learn new things every day. MSHSSK headmaster Khosazo Ruho said the school house 1181 students at present. The school is offering English, Alternative English, History, Political Science, Sociology, Computer Science/Information Practices, Economics and Environmental Education in higher secondary (Arts) while in science (higher secondary) it offers English, Alternative English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science/Informatics Practices and Environmental Education. MSHSSK principal Lanshung Anal expressed gratitude to Nagaland Board of School Education for allowing the school in starting higher secondary (Science Stream). Earlier, the programme was chaired by Zachive Thele, chairman school managing board while Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church, Minister Hill pronounced dedicatory prayer. Wepre Mero, asst. pastor invoked God’s blessing for the programme while Rev. Pusazo Chuzho, advisor, CBC, Ministers’ Hill, Kohima pronounced benediction. Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) officials led by its president Thupukutho Lohe and several other government officers and public leaders also attended the function.
