Thoughts of the successful teachers

We the successful candidates in the recent Teachers Recruitment Examination (G/T & P/T) would like to share some pertinent issues for the benefit of the upcoming and aspiring teachers and particularly the students as they are on the receiving end concerning this issue.  At the outset, we heartily appreciate the tasks executed by the Education department for advertising and conducting fair and open examination of the post vacancies reflecting the transparency of the department’s working system, for which every sensible person is ever grateful to.

The criteria exercised for the recent examination project and speak about the immense efficiency and wisdom of the dynamic department officials, for which every rational citizen should applaud. With regard to the agitation staged by the ANPSTA, we would like to lay some firm stands and comparisons from our end for a better deliverance of imparting quality education to the students in our state. To mention few, due preferences were given by the department to the PSTE and B.Ed certificate holders which we never objected. The eligibility criteria were relaxed for the B.Ed and PSTE certificate holders overlooking their percentage and marks obtained. Whereas, the other candidates like us were allowed to appear the examination with having 45% (i.e. 2nd division) and above only.  20 % of the total marks were exclusively set from the B.Ed and PSTE course, the subject matter on which we were totally not familiarized with. In compliance to the demand on the implementation of the NCTE Act,1993 and RTE Act ,2009 by the ANPSTA, we just wanted to know that, are all  the Regular/Adhoc teachers who are  appointed post these Acts ready to give back their holding posts? As most of these teachers appointed after the introduction of NCTE & RTE Acts were not trained/certified prior to their appointments.

We hope that a teacher like us, selected without enjoying any of the above stated preferences have the potential/caliber and can surely undergo and acquire the B.ED or PSTE certifications after joining our jobs without hampering the future of the students as deed before by many appointed government teachers. As per the direction of the Acts, we are ready to comply and complete our teaching trainings within the stipulated period of time. In comparison of the above statements, it should be noted that the premier posts in our state like NCS and NPS officers hitherto go for probation on their selected fields only after passing out in the NPSC written and oral examinations.  In conclusion, we pray and hope that every rational thinking citizens of the state who really stand for a better academic record from the government schools will show leniency to our legitimate stand.

Yours Sincerely,
Bendang
