Time for an alternative politics in Nagaland: TNR

KOHIMA, JULY 12 (MExN): Nagaland needs an alternative and the Rising People’s Party (RPP) presents a fitting choice to the people, The Naga Rising (TNR) has proclaimed. Making the statement in a press release, the RPP’s ideological parent organisation said that the political party was born out of a necessity “to be the change we want to see and to give our people an alternative platform.”

“All is not well with our governance system is a known fact. There is also recognition of the need for change. However, the sense of taking responsibility to clean up the corrupt and dysfunctional system remains a futile endeavour.” Against this backdrop, it said that the RPP was born.

It claimed that the RPP raising hope among the people, especially the younger generation, since its inception a year ago, has reconfirmed its conviction “to rededicate ourselves to the mission for which the party was created.”

As a new party, it admitted that the RPP has much to learn and cover but it added, “There is no better way to deal with challenges than remaining strong to the cause.”

While stating, “The time has come for an alternative politics in Nagaland,” it appealed the people “to reflect on the political choice we make today.”

“Do we want our children to inherit a system that guarantees a better future or do we want our children to leave our land because of the corrupt system?” it posed, while adding, “The choice is ours.”
