WOKHA, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): Kicking off the celebration of weeklong Tokhü Emong festival, a night carnival stalls was launched by Er Mhondamo Ovung, Lotha Hoho chairman on November 2 at Local Ground, Wokha.
In his address at the launching, Ovung said that this was also part of the annual programme under Tokhü Emong celebration, which aims to provide platform to the local entrepreneurs to exhibit their innovative business and sell indigenous items.
Ovung also reminded that the Lotha Hoho is celebrating its 100 years jubilee this November. He briefed the congregation that Lotha Hoho was erstwhile known as Lotha Tribal Council (LTC) and with change of time renamed the nomenclature.
He also asserted that Lotha Hoho, which is the apex body of the Lotha tribe, is working solely for the interest and welfare of its community.
He informed that this year, Tokhü Emong will witness six (6) night-and-day long festival starting from November 2 till 7. To this, he called upon the people to celebrate and enjoy responsibly, while urging all to forgive one another as the festival signify forgiveness and merrymaking.
Earlier, Lichumo Tsanglao, Pastor, Elumyo Baptist Church offered the dedicatory prayer, while Lirhonthung E. Kithan chaired the programme.
