Kohima, July 16 (MExN): The Self Help Groups (SHGs) under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NRSLM) of Nerhema village conducted a one day awareness and training on making of paper bag and cloth bag at Nerhema village council hall on July 15 last.
The aim & objectives of this event is to sensitize the people on the need to replace plastic bags with cloth bags and paper bags.
It has been informed that the free distribution will be made of the prepared cloth bags to every household in the village, and the paper bags to all the shops in the village.
SHGs also assured to provide the paper bags at reasonable rate for the shopkeepers if needed.
Altogether, 140 members from 30 SHGs attended the programme.
