Peren, March 5 (MExN): The Tening Students’ Union (TSU) Nagaland has aired their grievances over the inconveniences and the hardships faced by the BSNL subscribers in the area.
A press release issued by the union’s President Ngauphutlak Nrak and Secretary Kawiphibangbo Kambutta, said that the Union and other concerned organizations had approached the competent and responsible authority of the BSNL several times and made several appeals to the firm against the instability of the mobile network and the deplorable quality of the service being provided.
However, the release said their appeals were not attended to. The Union in this connection, served an ultimatum on the firm vide Ref. No. TSU/Appeal - 09/2018-03 which expired on December 8, 2018. Subsequently, the Union met the General Manager on December 7, 2018 at the latter’s Office Dimapur. It said that the Manager had given his assurance that the firm would set up a direct system between Tening and Peren. However the BSNL firm did not keep their assurance.
In this regard, the union stated it was set to put forth its action as deemed fit against the negligence of the firm towards its users. It has informed that the union will initiate their peaceful approach “starting from March 8 by way of locking down the BSNL station at Tening.”
The TSU further said they will “keep its action indefinite until and unless they get concrete official assurance of satisfactory service from the firm.” It has appealed to the general subscribers to bear the inconveniences as may arise consequently. The union also beseeched the support of various concerned organizations and the general public to contribute towards the common welfare of the societies.
