Tuensang DTF to revive check gate; vax ‘mela’ from today

Tuensang, April 12 (MExN): The Tuensang District Task Force for COVID-19 has decided to revive the check gate at the 3rd NAP check post in Tuensang, in order to collect travel history and bio-data of travellers, in case the need for contact tracing occurs.

The decision was taken during the DTF meeting at DC Conference Hall Tuensang on April 12, which was convened to discuss strategies to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district, the state DIPR informed. The meeting was chaired by Tuensang Deputy Commissioner and DTF Chairperson Kumar Ramnikant.

According to the DIPR report, the members also agreed to conduct a massive awareness drive for COVID appropriate behaviors in order to contain the pandemic. In this regard, the report stated that tribal leaders, ward leaders and the COC-I were handed the responsibility for the same. 

On the COVID vaccination drive, the house discussed that all the Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres are to be activated as vaccination centres. It was also decided that a vaccination Mela would be held at Tuensang Town Hall on April 13 and 14.
