Appeals state govt to settle pending dues
TUENSANG, AUGUST 30 (MExN): The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students’ Conference) has expressed serious concern over the impact of pending RMSA teachers’ dues on the quality of education in nine government high schools across Tuensang.
The Conference stated that the nine GHS schools namely GHS Yangpi, GHS Ngoungchung, GHS Hakchang, GHS Sangsangnyu, GHS Chaba, GHSS Hakushang, GHS Chingmelen, GHS Konya, and GHS Phangsang are being deployed with RMSA Teachers.
In this connection, the negligence of the Government to address the genuine demand of NRMSATA has impacted the quality of education, academic growth, and overall well-being of students, it stated.
The Conference said that the ongoing agitation by the NRMSATA 2016 batch is a legitimate exercise of their rights, as directed by the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, on March 16, 2022, and upheld by the Supreme Court of India on May 20, 2025.
It emphasized that the delay in disbursing teachers’ dues has not only affected the morale and dedication of RMSA teachers but also hindered students’ academic growth and overall well-being. The Conference highlighted that the RMSA teacher appointments were conducted through a competitive examination ensuring strict transparency.
The Chang Students’ Conference urged the State Government to address the matter urgently, stressing that the tireless efforts, dedication, and sacrifices of teachers should be duly acknowledged and rewarded. It called for the enforcement of the court’s directive without further delay to ensure that students do not suffer due to administrative negligence.
