TYOD condemns tax demand

Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): The Tenyimi Youth Organization Dimapur (TYOD) has condemned the tax demand served to Progressive Motors Dimapur by some cadres of an underground outfit.

Reacting to the GPRN/NSCN’s response that civil societies have acted on “undesired and assumptive allegation”, the TYOD said that it was never the intention of civil bodies to malign any particular faction or work on assumption or false allegation towards any party.

Stating that the civil bodies have come across evidences of the tax demand like the phone call record and a copy of the alleged demand letter, the TYOD said that “this kind of extortion in the name of national workers is uncalled for.”

It also stated that the patriotic spirit of Naga National Workers has been gradually diminishing due to “some selfish and unscrupulous members,” and appealed that such persons should be punished as per the law of the land by any government.

The Union further stated that, if any untoward incident happens to any of the family members of the proprietors of Progressive Motors and his working staff, the sole responsibility will be held by the particular faction.

TYOD also expressed its gratitude to the Dimapur Police for nabbing culprit and prayed that justice will be meted as per provision of the law.

The Union also  called on the Governor of Nagaland, R N Ravi to ensure that the “public were safe and free from all anti social elements.”
