Dimapur, April 29 (MExN): An unidentified male body, believed to be a non-Naga aged around 50–55 years, was recovered from a railway siding area opposite Railway Bazar in Dimapur on Wednesday, police said.
According to a statement, information was received at around 4:30 pm from the Station Manager of NF Railway, Dimapur, following which a police team rushed to the spot for verification.
An inquest was conducted, and the preliminary assessment suggested that the cause of death was suspected to be due to illness.
After completing necessary legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.
The deceased was wearing a white shirt and blue half pant at the time of recovery.
Police have appealed to any claimant, relatives or acquaintances of the deceased to contact the Officer-in-Charge of the Government Railway Police Station (GRPS), Dimapur, at mobile number 7085055021.
