Wangtin calls on Nagas to stand in unison

Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): On the eve of the Naga Republic Day, NSCN (R) President Y Wangtin Naga called on the Naga people to come together and stand in unison, stating that it is disunity among the Naga family that has been an obstacle to the much awaited and desired political solution.

“No solution is bigger and greater than love, peace and brotherhood,” he said while adding that the Naga people are preparing to embark on a new journey under a new political relationship with the Government of India.

Wangtin also expressed gratitude to every Naga men and women for defending the Naga nation as envisioned by the pioneers. “My profound and deepest respect to all the fallen heroes who made the supreme sacrifice while defending the Naga country against the onslaught of the adversaries,” he said in his message.

Stating that Nagas are not lost people but are chosen by God, he maintained that the Naga people have been able to withstand mighty adversaries through His grace.

He further stated that the “enormous and painstaking exercise by various civil society organisation, the churches and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation which has relatively brought peace and a halt to the senseless killing among the Naga brothers deserves huge applause for their contribution towards a peaceful Naga society.”
