‘Will never go against the wishes of the people’: NSCN (R) asserts

Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The NSCN (R) led by its collective leaders Y Wangtin Naga and P Tikhak on Wednesday “assure all our Naga men and women and all tribal hohos that NSCN/GPRN-Reformation will never go against the wishes of the people and we will abide by what our people will command.”

A press release issued by the NSCN (R) MIP Secretary said, “It is extremely painful and saddening to thrust our people with burden rather than hope; which we had been prayerfully waiting and expecting for years.”

It said. “Sensing, unwarranted situation, a very painstaking and genuine efforts were made to bury the differences on 22/10/21 with the intervention of our most beloved and Convenor, NNPG Kitovi Zhimomi but, unfortunately, Akato himself choose to defy and went ahead by announcing the split.”

“May good sense prevail upon our friend Akato at this crucial hour,” it added.

Meanwhile, the NSCN (R) also said it is “humbled at the maturity and statesmanship” shown by the Sumi Kukami Hoho. “We highly appreciate the magnanimous and sagaciousness shown by our Sumi Kukami Hoho in a true Naga spirit. It is an undeniable fact that, the Sumis are one of the most contributing tribe among the Nagas in the Naga National political struggle. Be it physically, financially, socially or emotionally, the Sumis has always stood their ground.”

“The contribution of our Sumi brothers and sisters will always be itched in golden letters in the history of Naga political struggle. Just because of a man or a woman the good deeds of a tribe can neither be swayed away nor alienated,” it added.
