Yes:
• Yes, from my point of view especially in the far flung areas where government negligence is everywhere seen, focusing on preserving cultural prospects.
• Dignity & recognition to people People's participation in development Pride - our people, our land, our worth Competitiveness with others Opportunities for sustainable development
• Peripheral areas are always neglected by the core area people in terms of development..... Being hills, district hq township settlement zones are limited, with traffic congestion, water shortage, lack housing rent house but..... Xenophobic district hq landowners animosity and hegemonic demand for all contracts and employment opportunities is also making people to demand new district. Government should give district to Mangkolemba area.
• It will priorities the dissemination of equal administrative services and efficiency in carrying out other developmental activities of the particular regional
No:
• No. More districts means more pressure on government exchequer, Nagaland govt is unable to pay salary even on current employees and not to mention the neglected deteriorating govt infrastructure….. forget about infrastructure for new districts
• More fund lost in transaction
• No. Because equitable development also can be achieved only if there's overall transparency in the governance as well as if the people can fight and raise their voice. We need to fight for corruption first than maybe we can talk about equitable development be it through creating more districts or any other way, untill then it's the same old thing in repeat.
• Increase in administrative expenditure negatively impacts development.
• No, this will only create more isms. It will not lead to any equitable development. This is a short sighted policy, with no vision.
• No. Actually, randomly increasing the number of districts without any proper planning will only have the reverse effect on governance. This will have negative effect on the quality of governance on the ground and will create shortage of administrative administrators.
• No. The number of districts has increased drastically in the last few years. This may seem like a good policy for those tribes who want a district, but this is not good for overall development of Nagaland. This will only create more tribalism. This policy of appeasement is self-destructive.
• No. Creating more new districts will only increase state spending of public money. For a cash-stricken state like Nagaland, creating new states will only lead to more public expenditure, instead of saving.
• No, until a new government that comes that wants to bring development to the state and should do away with corruption and no more undergrounds.
Other:
• Depending on the area, population and its reach from existing HQ, district creation is required for better and effective Governance. Some area such as Bhandari needs to be upgraded and recognize as a new district.
