WSSU condemns attack on its president

Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has strongly condemned the alleged attack on its president Kughato Achumi by one named Enoch Wotsa on the night of March 19.

This was stated in a press release by X Hinoka Chophi, General Secretary of WSSU. He also stated that their president was “deliberately and brutally attacked with an attempt to cause and inflict serious harm” on his life.

Further adding that the alleged attack by Enoch Wotsa was “cowardly, inhumane,” the release stated that such acts do not have any place in a civilised society.

The release further mentioned that the members of WSSU held an emergency meeting with its advisors and senior leaders. Citing “reliable sources” it claimed that the attack on its president “was not random but a premeditated murder attempt with a criminal motive.”

“Such an act is unbecoming in Naga culture and appealed to all responsible citizens to condemn such crimes,” it said while praying for the speedy recovery of its president.
