Yibeni Humtsoe, recipient of National Social Soldier Award 2022.
Wokha, March 10 (MExN): The National Social Soldier Award 2022 which honours “outstanding women empowerment action in defence of women rights and empowerment” has been awarded to journalist and human right activist, Yibeni Humtsoe from Nagaland. She was given the award in women rights segment.
The award was conferred on the occasion of International Women’s day by National Council of Women in association with Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, on March 8 at New Delhi, Yibeni stated in an update. Yibeni is an advisory penal member at National Commission for Women, Para legal Volunteer at District Legal Services Authority, Guwahati and bureau chief of ‘Country and Political’ newspapers.
She promote human rights and social justice for women and broken the glass ceiling for female social workers in India. The award recognized her unique contribution as a woman to ‘Right to live with dignity.’
