Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): Noted peace activist, Niketu Iralu on day four of Training of Trainers addressed the trainers of Peace Channel and Master of Social Work students, North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) on January 25.
Niketu expressed, “We are expected to build a society as it is in heaven. We are all expected to do things that are right and refuse to do the wrong. We undergo numerous challenges in life so we need to ponder upon, in order to know if we are making heaven or hell on earth.”
Niketu expressed that the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi had a big impact that changed his philosophy of life. The book named, “My experience with Truth”, has changed his outlook towards life. The book enabled him to understand that we should not be prejudiced towards others. “We need to learn from our hurts and humiliation or else it may create a hell for others life on earth. The unhappy individual has the power to influence on the other person and as peace builders we must listen to the still small voice that guides and navigates our thoughts and decisions in life,” he stated. He went on to say that “to bring peace in the world, we all have a role to play as a responsible human being. If we fail to do what we are supposed to do, we end up in chaos. We cannot be irresponsible and think that we can live the way we want alone.” He encouraged the young peace builders to reflect on oneself, be honest, appreciate and regard one’s every little contribution and be more responsible towards life.
The peace activist added that “if you want to be part of the change that the world and the state desperately need, take it upon yourself and examine, have integrity and ponder on becoming a model for being a person with morally responsible character.”
A total of 75 participants attended with the certificates given away by Niketu Iralu and Dr Fr CP Anto to 15 trainers of Peace Channel.
