180 more new COVID-19 cases in Nagaland

Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): A day after Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally crossed the 13,000 mark; another 180 new positive cases were reported from the state on Sunday.

On the other hand, 15 patients who had previously tested positive for the disease have now recovered. The recoveries were reported from Kohima (8) and Dimapur (7). 

According to updates from the health department’s Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), 154 of the new cases were reported from Dimapur, 24 from Kohima, and two from Mokokchung. 

At least 108 of the new cases were attributed Travellers/returnees, 60 were traced contacts, 11 were armed forces/security personnel and 1 frontline worker.

With this, the state now has 679 active cases, out of which 597 are said to be asymptomatic, 63 are ‘mild,’ 15 are ‘moderate on oxygen’ and 4 are ‘severe on oxygen.’ 

Dimapur district has the highest number of active cases at 509, followed by Kohima with 139 and Mokokchung -14, Phek- 10, Longleng- 4, while Peren, Tuensang and Wokha have 1 case each.

Overall, the tally of COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 13,183 with 12,132 recovered cases, as per the IDSP. A total of 98 deaths have also been reported in the state, out of which 10 were declared ‘not COVID related,’ after review by the COVID-19 Death Review Committee.
