The state government decided to modernize and upgrade the 50 TPD Mini Cement Plant Wazeho under Phek district to 150 TPD by addition of 100 TPD Plant and Machinery which was completed and inaugurated on June 27, 2008.

And as per the policy of state government to privatize the Mini Cement Plant, the Nagaland State Mineral development Corporation Limited (A Govt. of Nagaland undertaking) has advertised in different national and local papers, and different private companies had come forward to take over the Plant on lease, but has not materialized so far as such NSMDC has proposed for operation of the Plant by the Corporation.

This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2021-2022 of NSMDC tabled at the 11th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) here on March 22.

The Report stated that the process of privatization of this Mini Cement Plant is still kept open and private investors from within and outside the state are invited to take over the same.
