CM, WSKH lauds Naga leaders on reconciliation

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 23 (MExN): The State Government and the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, has welcomed the historic meetings of the leaders of various underground groups at Dimapur which has resulted in the signing of a joint statement on 22nd August, 2011. The statement which says that the leaders have “met in the spirit of love, respect and understanding and have agreed to strengthen and broaden the peace process based on uniqueness of Naga history” deserves to be lauded by all sections as it is a move in the right direction in Naga society’s quest for permanent peace, stated a press note issued by Press Secretary to the CM. The State Government reiterated its commitment to play the role of active facilitator in the peace process and once again urged upon all sections to come together under a spirit of reconciliation and work towards unity and oneness of Naga society so that we can achieve an honorable solution through a negotiated political dialogue.     
In a separate press note the Western Sumi Kukami Hoho appreciated the top Naga leaders who took part at the highest level meeting of leaders at Niathu Resort on August 20, 2011 to take the process of Naga reconciliation further for historical and political rights of Naga people. This was stated in a press note issued by Apeto Assumi, President and Jacob Zhimomi General Secretary of the WSKH. The hoho also lauded the step taken by the leaders at the meeting to forgive each other and leave behind their past mistakes.  
In this regard the WSKH also praised FNR for its effort in bringing the process of reconciliation this far. The hoho fully supported the pledge of Naga leaders as it is the heartfelt desire of every single Naga to see a day when all Naga group would once and for all reconcile with each other.  “At this historic moment, all section of Naga society should praise the pledge of the Naga leaders and any individual or group should not be allowed to sabotage the progress of the reconciliation process”, the press note from the WSKH stated while sincerely praying that Naga leaders’ pledge to forgive each other is not followed in words and writing alone but be put into action as well.
