Dimapur 24/7 organises inter-school debate for teachers

Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): The Dimapur 24/7, a digital media platform, organised the first ever Inter-School Debate for Teachers at Bethesda Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Dimapur on September 25. 

Altogether six schools participated in the first edition of the debate, organised under the leadership of Annie Jain, chairperson, Dimapur 24/7.

The participants debated on “Internet - Pros and Cons - How it effects or benefits children, students and adults” in the Round 1 and  “Children of today's generation should be focusing more on Text book/Classroom Education or Sports and co-curricular activities” in the Round 2. 

Eventually, Chabungbam Johnson Singh of BHSS was declared the winner of Team A while Loreno Ovung of  Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School was adjudged best from Team B.

The panel of judges were Prof Tapanjit Sinha, head of faculty NECI; Daniel Michal Khan, assistant professor, Department of Political Science, St Joseph University; and Allan Aley, Director, Dimapur 24/7. 

In a time where there are plenty of programmes and competitions for students, we wanted to open opportunity for teachers to take the center stage and start meaningful dialogues via debate competition, a press release from Dimapur 24/7 informed. 

It further expressed gratitude to the management of BHSS for allowing it to use school premises as the venue of the debate.
