Dimapur, April 26 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning the Newfield Checkgate intercepted a truck and recovered 436 cases of assorted Indian-made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on April 25 night.
According to updates from the Dimapur Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, the team intercepted the Imphal-bound truck bearing registration number MN 02B 6754, “based on specific information.” As per preliminary investigation the consignment originated at 7th mile Guwahati and was bound for Imphal, Manipur, it stated.
In this connection, one K Shyamchandra Singh (41), resident of Saiton in Manipur’s Bishnupur district was arrested. The seized IMFL was deposited in the District Excise Malkhana and the case is presently under further investigation, the updates stated.
