FGN welcomes BWA resolution on Naga Reconciliation Process

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 3 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland has termed it as a “great episode” on the meeting that took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 9th of June, 2011 where 120 (one hundred twenty) member nations of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) under its six regional bodies had firmly resolved to support the Naga Reconciliation, “A Journey of Common Hope” led by Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR). “To consider the Naga conflict as one of the most important issues of the world is a great symbolic and vital to the Naga cause”, stated a press note issued by G. Zhimomi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rali Wali Federal Government of Nagaland.
Pointing out that at no point of time in our history have we been blessed with such an international corroboration and encouragement, the FGN stated that this was indeed “a call to our nation to reason together and settles our differences peacefully”. The FGN stated that the BWA was urging “us to be reconciled to embrace non-violent approach in pursuit of our aspiration and also persuaded the signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR) to fulfill its promises”.
Describing the “Resolution on the Naga Reconciliation Process” as an outcome of the FNR’s “ceaseless labors and sacrifices to uphold the Reconciliation Process and all who give themselves to peace making”, the FGN stated that this was “an honor that the BWA would give such recognition and pledge their continued prayers and help to the Nagas in following their goal”. The FGN while thanking the BWA prayed that their “constant work for us be fruitful in the days to come”.
