Kohima, February 20 (MExN): The 3rd annual Dr Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award was held at Hotel Lavisto, Kohima on February 19.
A press release received here stated that five women, namely Vinikali G Kinimi, Likivi I Awomi, Atunali H Shohe, Liya Zhimomi, and Atolimi S Sumi were felicitated at the award ceremony for securing MBBS seat through the NEET 2020.
V Shikuto Sema, Vice-president Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Er Inaho P Awomi, Joint Director NRE, spoke on behalf of the families of the awardees. Piholi, President STH spoke on behalf of the Sümi Totimi Hoho, and Kitoshi Zhimomi prayed for the awardees.
Dr Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award is an initiative of Dr Toshevi Keditsu Sema, the first lady doctor from the Sümi community of Nagaland. She completed her MBBS in the year 1977 from Guwahati Medical College. This award is officiated by Dr K&T Keditsu Foundation in collaboration with Sümi Totimi Hoho, Nagaland, and presented annually to Sümi women who qualify to study graduate medical course (MBBS) though the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in India.
The award comprises of certificate and cash prize of Rupees one lakh.
