FNR responds to Arunachal Citizens’ Forum

The attention of the Forum for Naga reconciliation has been drawn through the news item as mentioned above, which was published in the Morung Express, dated Dimapur, March 19, 2013 and some other daily newspapers in Nagaland.

First of all, FNR expresses our sincere apology for the delay in responding to your letter, sent through the news media as we are currently out of station and fully occupied with other works related to our commitment. Secondly, we also needed to take up the issue raised by you with relevant authorities which had to go through certain communication processes which in itself was time-taking. However, we believe that we have done what we could to communicate our unhappiness over what happened at Soha Village in Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh and have urged for restraining erring cadres whose “un-called for activities” are only creating bad-bloods between our communities and fellow citizens. We hope, such incidences which only bring shame and dis-respect to our society will not be repeated.

And therefore, please accept our well-meaning response to your communication in good spirit as we equally do not condone any act of violence and perpetration of human rights violation in any manner by any individual or group of people. We are sorry for the way some Naga boys have behaved in this instance.

We would also like to wish speedy recovery for the injured persons who might have sustained, and from their mental trauma.
