Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The 4th annual Dr Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award was held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima on March 18. Four women, including Avili Swu, Sulika Zhimomi, Vitunali L Awomi, Hikili Q Aye were felicitated at the award ceremony for securing MBBS seat through the NEET 2021. 

According to a press release received here, Lhotoi Awomi spoke on behalf of the families of the awardees. Piholi Swenetho, President Sümi Totimi Hoho Kohima and Khevito Shohe, President Sümi Hoho Kohima spoke on behalf of their respective organisations. Associate Pastor, Sümi Baptist Church Kohima, Kuholi Chishi Achumi pronounced a prayer of blessing for the awardees. The Aeterna Chorale, under the direction of James Swu presented a message in song. The vote of thanks was delivered by Kuholi Chishi, Rtd. Director, Higher Education. 

The Dr Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award is an initiative of Dr Toshevi Keditsu Sema, the first lady doctor from the Sümi tribe of Nagaland. She completed her MBBS in the year 1977 from Guwahati Medical College. This award is officiated by Dr K&T Keditsu Foundation in collaboration with Sümi Totimi Hoho, Nagaland, and presented annually to Sümi women who qualify to study graduate medical course (MBBS) though the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in India. This award comprises of a certificate and cash prize of rupees two lakh.
