A two-week ‘GST Sahyogi’ training programme was inaugurated at CGST Dimapur Commissionerate.

Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): A two-week ‘GST Sahyogi’ training programme, designed to equip local youth with the skills to assist small businesses in Nagaland with Goods and Services Tax (GST) rules and procedures, was inaugurated at CGST Dimapur Commissionerate.
The programme was inaugurated by L Beimopha, Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Shillong.
Organised by NACIN Shillong in collaboration with the CGST Dimapur Commissionerate, the training will also have resource persons from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Scheduled from September 15 to 26, the curriculum will focus on the practical aspects of GST, including registration, filing returns, tax payment, and addressing common compliance challenges through hands-on training.
A total of 37 participants, selected from across Nagaland in consultation with local trade bodies and the State Taxes Department, will undergo the training. The participants represent 16 out of the state’s 17 districts. Notably, 25 per cent of the trainees are women.
Upon completion, the candidates will be certified as ‘GST Sahyogi.’ Their names and contact information will be made available at local GST offices and on public platforms to facilitate direct access for businesses seeking assistance. Periodic refresher sessions and a support network will be established for continued upskilling.
