GST (Seventh Amendment) Bill 2023, Nagaland Anatomy Bill 2023 passed

The Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (Seventh Amendment) Bill 2023 and Nagaland Anatomy Bill 2023, introduced on September 12 on the floor of the House, have been passed today at the second session of 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) in Kohima.

The consideration and passing of Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (Seventh Amendment) Bill 2023 was moved by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

Rio stated that the Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (Seventh Amendment) Bill 2023 will make Nagaland Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 more comprehensive.

Nagaland Anatomy Bill, 2023, which was moved for consideration and passing by health & family welfare minister P. Paiwang Konyak, was also passed today.

“This Bill seeks to empower the authorized officers appointed by the state government to take possession of the unclaimed dead bodies in hospitals, prisons or public places, and also for enabling a person before his death, to express an intention, in writing in the presence of two or more witnesses, to donate his body or any part thereof after his death for the purposes aforesaid,” the minister stated.

Later, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio laid a copy of “Amendment of Rule 50 & 51 of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board Regulation- 2020” on the floor of the House.

Rio also tabled the “Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on Social, Economic, General and Revenue Sectors for the year ended 31st March 2022.’
