IDANSB gives back to community in Nagaland

Organises free dental camp in all districts; free follow-up treatment for patients treated during the camp 

Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): As part of the Community Dental Health Program, the Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) organised free dental camp in all the districts of Nagaland on February 12 and 13.

In a press statement, IDANSB, President Dr Kaketo Yepthomi informed that free dentures were delivered to 441 patients. Free medicine, tooth brushes, tooth paste were distributed amongst the patients. 

Kohima district headed by Secretary, Dr Vichovol held the camps in Viswema CHC and Tseminyu where 542 patients were screened, 106 dentures were delivered, 82 extractions, 54 restorations done.

Dimapur District was headed by president of IDA, Dr Kaketo Yepthomi and CDH Convenor, Dr Naomi Zhimomi. The camp was held in nine different locations i.e. Chümoukedima, 5th Mile, Diphupar, Thilixu, Aoyimti, Railway colony, Nisato colony, Rilan and Kevijau. A total of 632 patients were screened, 203 dentures delivered, 10 extractions and 30 restorations were done.

In Wokha district, the camp was held at Yikhum village where 70 patients were screened and 24 dentures done. The Tseminyu team was headed by Dr Arenla Walling. 374 patients were screened, 35 dentures and 43 extractions were done. In Kiphire, 17 patients were screened and 13 extractions.

In Mon district the camp was held at The Old Age Home with 15 patients screened and five dentures done. In Zunheboto, 21 patients were screened and 27 dentures delivered while in Mokokchung, 32 patients screened and 17 dentures delivered. In Peren 43 patients were screened and 30 dentures and 12 extractions done.

Dr Kaketo said in the press release that members of IDANSB contributed funds for Community Dental Health Camp.

Funds collected were used for procure dental materials. Equipments and consumable goods were also contributed by the members for the denture camp.

Follow-up of patients treated during the camp will be done in clinics without charging any fee, he added.
