The Department of Land Resources, Nagaland today accorded farewell to outgoing director, T Renben Lotha. Renben served the department for 35 years. He introduced coffee drinking culture in the state by initiating coffee bars in 11 districts. He also introduced wearing of traditional dress by officers and staff of the department once in a week.
“Under his initiative, 10,000 hectares of coffee plantation has been possible in the state,” said Additional Director, A Pangjung Jamir, who will succeed Renben as the new director. Jamir said that Renben was the first field officer to become the director of land resources department. Jamir described the later as sincere and efficient officer, who retired gracefully.
Nagaland Land Resources Secretary, Vikeyie Kenya, Nagaland Horticulture Department, director Dr R Elithung Lotha and others also spoke at the programme.
Botovi Sema, Registrar, spoke on behalf of ministerial staff, on behalf of district officers by Lipichem, APO Kiphire, on behalf of State Level Nodal Agency by Inatoli Chishi and on behalf of Family SHG Directorate Staff by Anungla Ozukum. Alobo Naga presented a special number.
The programme was chaired by Land Resources, Joint Director, C Vanchamo Ngullie.
