House sealed in Diphupar village
Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chairman Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority Rajesh Soundararajan on Saturday ordered the sealing of a house in F-Khel, Diphupar Village, 4th Mile Dimapur from April 24, during which necessary sanitation of the premises shall be done by the management. The step has been taken to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the order stated, adding that any person violating containment measures will be penalized as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section-188 of the IPC.
NSCN (R) condoles demise of member
Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): The NSCN (R) expressed sadness at the demise of Kideon Yeptho (Raja Peyu) on April 23. Late Kideon, a native of Jeishe Village, was presently serving as Raja Peyu, under UT-1, the NSCN (R) stated in its condolence message on Saturday. In his demise, we have lost a young and sincere comrade which grieves our heart, it stated. The NSCN (R) prayed for the departed soul top rest in peace and for God to provide solace to his loved ones, family members and friends during their time of grief.
One NSCN (R) cadre arrested in Kohima
Kohima, April 24 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended a cadre of NSCN (R) from general area New Reserve Colony, Kohima on April 21. A press release from HQ IGAR (N) informed that the operation was based on a specific input. Nine extortion receipts and 12 blank work permits were reportedly recovered from the cadre’s possession. The apprehended individual along with the recovered items has been handed over to South Police Station, Kohima District for further investigation, the release added.
Unauthorized entry, exit within containment zone punishable offense
Kohima, April 24 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has notified all concerned that unauthorized entry and exit within the demarcated Containment Zone is a punishable offence. The notification also added that anyone found violating the demarcated perimeter of the Containment Zone will be liable to punishment under Section 51 and 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
Report unfair trade practices, WDCCI informs public
Wokha, April 24 (MExN): The Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WDCCI) on Saturday cautioned all business establishments in Wokha District against charging exorbitant rates from customers, and those indulging in hoarding of commodities. The chamber reassured that there is “enough stock in the market” and appealed the public not to panic over the artificial shortage caused by unscrupulous means. “The WDDCI will keep a vigil on the market and strong action will be taken against defaults,” Renpithung Kikon, WDCCI said in a statement. The public has also been requested to report unfair trade practices to the chamber.
NPF Central Office Secretary’s demise mourned
Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Minority Department and the Dimapur Namghar Trust Board (DNTB) on Saturday mourned the demise of NPF Central Office Secretary, Mukibur Rahman who passed away on April 23 at Referral Hospital, Dimapur following a “sudden heart attack.” Describing late Rahman as someone who had larger goals and commitment in providing leadership to the citizens of Nagaland, particularly the Minorities in the State, NPCC Minority Department Chairman Rajesh Kumar Sethi said, “It is very sad that we lost such a valuable person.” The NPCC Minority Department rank and file paid heartfelt condolences to late Rahman’s family and prayed for his soul to rest in Peace. Meanwhile, in a separate message, the Dimapur Namghar Trust Board (DNTB) Chairman remembered Rahman as the ‘heart of the Assamese society’, holding various responsibilities in the capacity of the Convenor of the Assamese Samaj at various fronts and issues. The DNTB extended condolences and stated that it is an irreparable loss for the Assamese Samaj of Dimapur in particular and people in general.
