Nagaland: Rs 17 crore allocated under land compensation

During 2020-21 an amount of Rs 17 crore was allocated under land compensation and out of which Rs 8,01,08,085 was utilized for acquisition of 105.142 acres of land for various developmental works.
This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2020-21 of the Department of Planning & Coordination tabled in the recently concluded 7th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA).
It includes; Acquisition of land for community health centre at Alichen, Acquisition of land for construction of 5000 MT FCI godown, Acquisition of land for NST Garage and staff quarter, Acquisition of land for extension of Government College Zunheboto, Acquisition of land for setting up of Professional College under scheme of RUSA, Acquisition of land for construction of town hall at Zunheboto, Acquisition of land for setting up of medical college at Ponghon, Mon and Acquisition of land for setting of EAC headquarter at Noklak.
The Report stated that the remaining Rs 8,98,91,915 is also expected to be fully utilized within the current financial year 2020-21.
Nagaland: 29,759 doses of Covishield vaccine administered as of February 23
Kohima, February 23 (MExN): A total of 29,759 doses of Covishield vaccine have been administered across Nagaland as of February 23. An update from Dr Ritu Thurr, State Immunization Officer (UIP), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland informed that 43% of the registered healthcare workers and 30% of frontline workers have been vaccinated with the first dose. In addition, 4,819 healthcare workers have completed the full two doses.
“No adverse events needing medical intervention has been reported from any of the districts,” it stated.
Meanwhile, it also informed that the mop up sessions for health care workers will end on February 25 and “all registered healthcare workers should get vaccinated in the next two days.”
Chakhesang Youth Front informs
Phek, February 23 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has informed that it will conduct its touring-cum-coordination meeting from March 2 to 4. Therefore, the presidents of villages/towns youth organisations affiliated to CYF are requested to positively attend the meeting and depute atleast four representatives. The schedule of the tour will be as follows: March 2- Phek Area and Tizu Area at Phek Town Council Hall (12:00 pm); March 3 - Chozuba Area and Sekrezu Area at Vamuzo Memorial Hall (10:00 am); March 3 - Chokri Area at Chetheba Town Hall (1:00 pm); March 4 - Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Area, Secheku Area, Kikruma Village and North Kikruma village at Mini Tourist Lodge Pfutsero (11:00 am)
KKTPO condemns Chida Post incident
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Khezha/KuzhaTephe Public Organization (KKTPO) has condemned the incident at Chida Post on February 16 where a Dobashi on duty was abducted and harassed by Tungjoy villagers. KKTPO, President, Neikhwetso Mero and Press Secretary, Wenipe Sarah in a press release has appealed the authorities concerned to book and arrest the culprits at the earliest.
Kapamodzu Range declared ‘protected area’
Also, as per the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) orders, Kapamodzu Range is declared as “protected area.” In this regard, KKTPO has stated that any form of activities such as hunting, felling of trees, collecting medicinal herbs etc is strictly prohibited. “If any person is found violating will be penalized without consideration,” it stated.
NSCN (R) greets on 'Sekrenyi' festival
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) has conveyed 'Sekrenyi' festival greetings to the Angami Nagas. Sekrenyi is one of the major festivals of the Angami Naga tribe, which falls in the Angami month of ‘Kezei’ (February 25), and signifies a celebration of purification accompanied with feasting and singing. The NSCN (R) in a press note issued through its MIP said that the festival is celebrated for 10 days. The objective of the festival is to renew and “make holy” by cleansing the “body and the soul” of the village as a whole, and to bring forth unity and it also marks initiation of young people to adulthood. “May this festival continue to bring forth peace and unity amongst Angamis in particular and the Nagas in general,” it said.
One Motorcycle found
Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): “As per information intimated from the office of Union Territory (UT), Kilo Affairs, NSCN (IM), a press note from MIP NSCN (IM) stated that a motorcycle (Pulsar 220) Black colour, bearing Registration No AS-01BJ-3592, Chassis No MD2A13EZ9DCJOO624 and Engine No DKZC96108 has been recovered and kept for claimant and authentication at the office at CHQ, Khehoi Camp. Therefore, genuine owner of the vehicle along with all original documents are directed to contact @ +918787683544/+917005369577 to claim the same within seven days from issue of this notification.
