NBSE informs on revised rules relating to PwD students

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School (NBSE) has informed all the heads of registered institutions to familiarise themselves with the revised rules relating to PwDS students and disseminate the information.

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has envisaged Equitable and Inclusive Education-Learning for All and has reaffirmed bridging of social category gaps in access, participation, and learning outcomes in school education as a major goal of all education sector development programmes, the Board noted.

The Board further said that NEP 2020 also reaffirmed the provisions contained in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in regard to students with disabilities.

In this context, the NBSE stated that the Board has reviewed and made suitable modifications in the curriculum and examination system to meet the needs of students with disabilities in line with the NEP mandates.

Feedback were taken from various stakeholders of the state and the revised rules have the approval of the Government March 15, it added.

Accordingly, it informed that revised rules have been uploaded in the Board’s portal www.nbsenl.edu.in  “All Heads of Registered Institutions have been requested to familiarise themselves with the revised rules and disseminate the information to the students with disabilities for seeking exemptions,” it said.

“The revised rules will supersede earlier rules and notification, and will become applicable from the academic session 2022 i.e. Classes VIII & IX Examinations 2022 and HSLC & HSSLC Examinations 2023 onwards,” it added.
