In view of the forthcoming festive season and Hornbill festival, the Central Youth Organization (CYO) of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today undertook Sanitation and Cleanliness Drive in the state capital Kohima.
Through the theme ‘go zero waste for healthy lifestyle,’ the CYO involving party youth leaders and volunteers from 8th Western Angami A/C, 9th Kohima Town A/C, 10th Northern Angami-1 A/C, 11 Northern Angami-11 A/C, 14th Southern Angami–1 A/C, 15th Southern Angami–II A/C and Kohima region youth office bearers, undertook cleanliness drive at Medical Junction via Naga Bazar-Tinpati, Tinpati via Razhu Point-D Block, DC road-Viliethe Complex, Billy Graham road via DBS- Tinpati junction, High School-NDPP Head office, BOC (PHQ Junction-Naga Hospital, Lerie (CRPF)-BOC- PHQ junction and Tinpati-High School.
The NDPP Central Youth Organization also donated dustbin to Naga Hospital Kohima. NDPP CYO President, Imchatoba Imchen said that this cleanliness drive is an annual event of the CYO.
‘NDPP youth should stand on forefront’
Kicking off the drive as the special guest, Temjenmenba, Advisor for Transport & Technical Education, called upon the youth to exercise their responsibilities for a healthy society.
He also encouraged them to go from door to door and grassroots level from village to towns and sensitise the people on the flagship programmes of the government.
“NDPP youth should stand on forefront,” he said. He subscribed today’s cleanliness drive as “yeomen and noble service” for the society. “We have a moral responsibility to keep our surrounding clean,” he said. “Let us continue to do good things for the people,” he said.
Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso (Ato) and Ex-MLA Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire also addressed the gathering.
